First Ladies and Iconic Global Women in Fashion
In celebration of Women's History Month, FASHIONPHILE, the leader in pre-owned ultra-luxury handbags and accessories, has partnered with Hotel Washington to curate a special exhibit: First Ladies and Iconic Global Women in Fashion.
Embark on a journey through style and history and explore the handbags and accessories of the world's leading ladies from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to Princess Diana. Join us in celebrating the extraordinary women who have shaped not only fashion, but the course of history itself. On display through March 28, 2024.
Up to 12 vitrines will be displayed in the lobby, highlighting First Ladies and other impactful women’s fashion through bags and jewelry while telling a short story about them.

Frédérique Campagne Irwin
Frédérique Irwin, President and CEO of the National Women's History Museum, has over 25 years of experience in strategic management, nonprofit and commercial business, and entrepreneurship. As former Managing Director of Impact Strategy at the Sorenson Impact Center, she led initiatives promoting equity in higher education and women's entrepreneurship. Irwin founded and led Her Corner, a company educating women on how to scale their businesses, until its sale in 2021.
Sarah Davis
Recognized as one of Forbes Magazine's "Ten Female Entrepreneurs to Watch," Sarah Davis, Founder and President of Fashionphile, began the ultra-luxury re-commerce company in 1999, initially on eBay while studying at the University of Maryland School of Law. Fashionphile has grown into the largest online platform for ultra-luxury handbags and accessories in the US. Under Sarah's leadership, Fashionphile has expanded from a startup in her house to a 30,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Carlsbad, California, with brick-and-mortar showrooms nationwide.
Tashira Halyard
Tashira is a reformed attorney who lives and works at the intersection of style, self-care and social justice. She is an equity consultant who supports organizations on their journeys to becoming anti-racist. Tashira serves as an online content creator and CEO of Politics & Fashion, a lifestyle blog that is home to the 21-Day Happiness Project and Joy Lounge.
Véronique Hyland
Véronique Hyland is ELLE’s Fashion Features Director and the author of the book Dress Code, which was selected as one of The New Yorker's Best Books of the Year. Her writing has previously appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, W, New York magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, and Condé Nast Traveler.
Elizabeth Holmes
Elizabeth Holmes is a New York Times best-selling author and seasoned multimedia reporter, known for her book "HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style" and her contributions to publications like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Vanity Fair. As a former senior style reporter at The Wall Street Journal, she delved into the business of fashion and beauty. Holmes also created the Webby-honored Instagram series "So Many Thoughts," offering fashion commentary on the royal family.
Kristin Moller
As a senior vice president at J/PR, Kristin Moller brings nearly 20 years of hospitality marketing and public relations expertise, focusing on client management, crisis communications, and campaign development. Leading the Toronto office since 2019, she has enhanced the agency's Canadian presence and devised strategies to connect clients with key customers and brands. Kristin heads the Client Services Committee, facilitating resources like the Media Training Program.
